Dan ELENI carey
Teacher, Writer, Art Practitioner
Dan is the founder of Wild Ground Creative Adventures, where she has spent over a decade creating nature immersion programs and creative projects for children, young people, and adults. Her work combines creative practice, forest schooling, nature play, and social ecology, and is grounded in trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approaches. Before Wild Ground, Dan worked as a teacher and group facilitator across the arts, primary education, and outdoor education sectors. She is also an award-winning writer and arts practitioner, with work that centres on collaborative, connective practice and explores themes of nature connection, grief, and social change. Dan holds a Music degree and a Masters of Teaching, and is currently studying a Masters of Autism and Neurodiversity.
julie Lhuillier
Wild Ground Facilitator, Teacher, Watercolour Artist,
Julie is a qualified Primary and Early Childhood Teacher specialising in nature-based, holistic, and human-centred education. She has extensive experience designing and facilitating immersive outdoor programs that integrate play, bushcraft, and creative arts to foster curiosity, resilience, and wellbeing in children and young people. A skilled watercolour artist, Julie brings imagination, sensory craft, and storytelling into her teaching practice. She is also highly experienced in culturally responsive education, integrating local knowledge and Reconciliation principles into learning experiences.
AMELIE VANDERSTOCK
Wild Ground Facilitator, Ecologist, Performer
Amelie is a pollinator ecologist, educator, science communicator and performer with a PhD in native bees. Her work bridges science and the arts, creating engaging programs that inspire curiosity and deepen ecological connection. She has collaborated with councils, schools and communities across Australia to design nature-based learning experiences through music, storytelling and hands-on ecology. Amelie is also a skilled facilitator and performer, often bringing her ukulele alongside her scientific expertise to share the wonder of the natural world.
